Sailor Moon R Episode 02 - For Love and Justice! A Sailor Warrior Once Again

I'm not sure about you, but I think I may be starting to enjoy having a bit of a schedule of sorts like this. Being able to break up shows like this really helps to relieve myself of all the monotony of watching the same crappy show.

Of course, I'm still watching pretty crappy shows, so there's that. You can try to defend Sailor Moon all you want, but if you paid any attention at all to the first series, you know full well that there is plenty of really messed up stuff happening there. Which makes me not look all that forward to this show. Having been watching Pretty Cure, I have to say I much prefer what they did over this. At least with Pretty Cure, they make the transition from funny to serious very well, though it helps a lot that they mostly keep things kind of silly and lighthearted.

Plus, not focusing on the whole 'romance' thing always helps.

Strike Witches Episode 03 - Lonely No More

Strike Witches holds a very special place in my heart. I'm pretty sure it's there right next to wankstas, weeaboos, and people who kick puppies. But it does have a place in my heart. One of these days, I imagine it's going to be the part that gives me a massive coronary.

Assuming it doesn't give me eye stigmatas.

Yes. A stigmata. In my eyes.

Free! Episode 04 - Captive Butterfly!

This is a show that, despite getting hold of it as soon as possible, I simply did not want to watch. Why? Why must I put myself through this? Because I like it? Hell no. Probably because of some serious self-loathing issues I have.

Also, I guess I watched that Ace Attorney movie finally, and it was okay. Not quite what I was expecting, but overall I think I liked it in the end. I'm fairly certain I won't like Free! in the end. In fact, it may well make me cry. Because I don't want things like this to exist.

Sailor Moon R Episode 01 - Moon Revived! The Mysterious Aliens Appear

Well, I suppose this was inevitable at some point. I update the blog three days a week, and two of those days are already filled up with other shows. My choices for the open one right now are Sailor Moon and That Which Shall Not Be Named. So the choice was obvious here because f**k that other show.

On the other hand though, I've managed to go more than a week without having to even think about this show, so let's see what adding the letter R onto the end of a series tends to do for us.

Strike Witches Episode 02 - To Do What I Can

Tonight, I had one of those damning choices to make. Do I watch more of a show I already know I hate with the fury of a batallion of Spartan warriors? Or do I take the chance, and see if maybe Sailor Moon might somehow improve between season one and two?

As you can tell by the title above, I've made my choice. Because for some reason, I'd rather put off old magical girl anime and instead opt for the historically-inaccurate magical girl show. With pantsu all over.

I'll try not to hurl all over my keyboard.

Free! Episode 03 - Theoretical Dolphin Kick!

Today's entry is a bit late, as you might have noticed from that last post. Sometimes, stuff just happens, and you wind up not sleeping and your body goes "wauuughurple". No, literally, I think it made a noise like that.

Also, and I'm just putting it out there, but there is a chance I may not stick with this show. Really, the big thing is, well, I've already managed to establish that the characters, they are not exactly paragons of virtue. Or well-adjusted teenagers who make wise decisions. However, if you come into watching a show like this, and you're expecting great character growth? You're doing it wrong, son.

With that having been said, let's take one more look, and see if this show actually graduates to a plot that makes some sort of sense, or if it just continues to be more baffling than Schrodinger's Cat.

Strike Witches Episode 01 - Magical Girl

Today's blog is up late for reasons totally not involving completing the end of Bioshock Infinite. Shut up, it's a thing I haven't been able to do until now but at least that part of my life is over and I can move on.

Right. So today, I'll be going over a show I tried to watch and utterly gave up on. Why? Well... you'll see why. I figure I need a short break from Sailor Moon though, so this will work for the interim, and it will also keep me from doing That Other Show. Because seriously, screw that festering pile of shit.

So I'm replacing one crappy show for another. What in the hell am I doing with my life?

Sailor Moon Episode 46 - Usagi's Everlasting Wish! A New Reincarnation

So here we finally are. The end of the road. The last episode of the original Sailor Moon series.

There are a lot of words I could use to describe this show, overall. Words that won't be going here, but will go into a nice little piece I'll be putting out next Monday that will act as a final review on the matter.

But for now? I'm going to dive into this one last time, and see how this all finally ends. Even though I'm already pretty sure how it actually ends. I get the feeling it will be entirely too happy, though.

Oh dear god. So it seems that the show airs on Wednesdays, so expect your friday slots to be filled with lots and lots of homo-friendly fanfare, because this show is going to be.... well I don't honestly know. Let's just find out together.

Sailor Moon Episode 45 - The Sailor Warriors Die! The Tragic Final battle

This is proving to be an incredibly busy week for me. More work piled onto my plate (writing-wise), and yet still meeting the deadlines. Which is an incredibly good thing, let me tell you, it feels good to be able to do stuff like this. Even if it, y'know, is kind of a harrowing process (some days more than others).

With all of that having been said, it's nice to know that people are reading this blog. Lately, it seems to have been getting a little bit of attention. Not a whole lot, mind you, but enough to make me think that there is a chance more than three people read it. Which is nice.

You might have noticed a poll thingy over on the right. I put that there in the hopes that I can gauge how many people are visiting. It's not a very good measure, obviously, but it's better than the stats I do get (which don't really indicate how many people just go straight to the main page in their browser, I think).

So I guess what I'm saying is, thanks for sticking around so long, or if you're just finding this place, welcome. I hope you enjoy. Feel free to spread the blog around, get the word out and make people laugh. Or in the case of KnJ, to warn them never to ever watch that show even if they are being paid to. Which I'm not even.

Speaking of doing things wrong this is going on way too long so lets jump into this episode and get this shit done and over with.

Free! Episode 01 - Reunion at the Starting Block!

So you might have noticed by the title that I'm starting up a new show. If you haven't, then you probably noticed just now. Unless you skipped the last two sentences, in which case, I can't help you.

I was sitting around, and then my girlfriend comes up and says, "hey, there's this show that really confuses the hell out of me, maybe you should do something about it." And I, being the complete idiot I am, go "sure, what could possibly go wrong?"

Hence, I am actually going to be watching a currently-airing show. The idea is that this will be a weekly feature. Why am I doing a bonus this week? Two reasons. First, I really, really want to finish Sailor Moon by Friday. Because if I drag that out any longer, it might cause irreversible damage to my frontal lobe. By which I mean to say, I might decide to test the structural integrity of the front of my skull. Second, I want to try to get this blog up as close to the air date as is humanly possible.

With that being said, there is a very slim possibility that you might see another bonus episode this week. Very, very slim, depending on when the second episode airs (and when I can get English translations because those things are kind of important for my understanding). So we'll see. Worst case scenario is, I get to update this next on Monday. Best cast (or actual worst case depending), I might update these on fridays. It all depends on when it becomes available for me.

Remember that friend of mine that I don't get to talk to very often anymore? It's always great when your conversations begin with "Here's the next episode, lolololol".

Of course, like an idiot I'm like "well, how bad can it possibly be, right?" I mean, let's face it, I'm pretty sure that this show can't possibly sink any lower than it already has at this point, with everything that's happened up to this point. So let's just see how completely wrong I am, eh?

Sailor Moon Episode 44 - Usagi's Awakening! A Message From the Distant Past

I'm running late tonight. Why? I don't know, could have something to do with THE SKY EXPLODING ALL AROUND. Y'know. Fourth of July? Expressing one's patriotic freedoms by eating hot dogs and blowing things up?

So yeah, hopefully you've enjoyed yours. Mine was pretty good, up until the point I decided that I had to go and write this thing up because I've been busy not getting drunk and making a fool of myself. (No, seriously, I haven't been drinking at all what is up with that how unpatriotic can you get?)

Sailor Moon Episode 43 - Is Usagi Going It Alone? The Sailor Warriors Get Into a Big Fight

With every passing day, I grow one step closer to finishing the first stage of this project. It fills me with a sense of relief, in a way, that I've managed to make it this long without actually causing any permanent physical damage. Like trying to take scissors to my face, or using a cordless drill on my hand.

That's not to say there haven't been moments when I have been sorely tempted to, mind you. Especially in recent weeks.

However, I am almost at the end of this thing. Four more episodes, and I will have completed Sailor Moon. Then I guess I can begin on R or something. Ugh.

I might as well just get this thing over with, so I can cry myself to sleep tonight.
